1. Death loves her family all the more because she knows that one day she will be the last person each of them sees. Death has been there at the end for each of her brothers and her sisters when they died, and will be there for their replacements. She took their hands and smiled and made jokes and took them where they needed to be. She wonders, idly because Death does not obsess about things, who will be there for her at the end of all things, when the lights go out and she is the last to leave.
2. Death does not play favourites. She has the same smile for a goldfish as for a star and really, she loves them all. Which is not to say that she doesn't like it when the dead sing her the last verse their death song, or greet her as the friend they never met before, but know instantly. Mostly, they pass her way just once, but manners make her long days go more smoothly.
3. If Death did not laugh, she would weep. Weeping would depress her clients, so she does not weep. Laughing cheers them up, some of them. Death is kind by nature, but it is also by far the best way.
