Silence Exile and Crumpets

I find the ultra-right wing orthodox clergy stuff very very upsetting because the church is so firmly instructed to not support thuggery and oppression. The russian church was/is entwined with the state in a way that is - ah, it's really difficult. But the orthodox church has multiple patriachs, rather than a single leader, and goes by consensus based on history and discussion, so eventually things get done right. It just takes a kabillion years! Plus then I think of slavery and then I get super upset. This was a deciding question for me, whether the church welcomed and supported glbt people. My church does, and I'm starting to get the celibate gay theology, but I'm not sure yet of anything but being kind.

Now to try torrent that documentary.
