More on heckling
Sep. 29th, 2005 08:52 amThe man ejected from the Labour Party conference yesterday by hired bouncers several times his size is apparently going to be readmitted to conference if he promises not to heckle again.
People who have lied to the public over decisions that have cost thousands of lives are so cowardly that they cannot take even the most trifling of calling to account. People who claim to be certain that they did the right thing can only cope with their consciences by stifling voices of dissent.
Several ministers in the Blair government were, in their time, elected officers or employees of Liberty. I call on Harriet Harman, Patricia Hewitt and Fiona McTaggart to dissociate themselves from this disgraceful attack on freedom of speech.
