I remembered all my dead only a couple of weeks ago, and the transgendered dead people that I knew were in there.
When I think of all the risks I took when I was young and desperate, and all the situations I got myself into, I am sometimes amazed that I am still here. And know that it has to do with white middle-class privilege, even at the level that sometimes, when people have a knife to your throat or are kicking you, they hear a posh accent and a thought of consequences drifts across their mind.
