My thanks to everyone that [livejournal.com profile] thete1 has recruited to provide me with toons for the superhero project. Sometimes you realize that major areas of ignorance have grown up in your life that you need to get sorted immediately...

Speaking of which, does anyone in the UK have the later Wild Cards books that they could sell/loan me? I need Jokertown Shuffle, Turn of the Card, Card Sharks, the one that came after Card Sharks, and Deuces Down...Some of the Bantam Press ones are now selling for very very silly money.

In the meantime, here's my Narnia piece for the Times Literary Supplement. Lukewarm in winter )

The current issue also contains another review by me which is pseudonymous because the TLS doesn't like running two reviews obviously by the same person in the same issue. A small no-prize for identification by style or transparency of pseudonym.

This is probably a truth universally acknowledged, but I was having drinks last night with my friend Amanda Hemingway. She is very worried that she made the wrong move in publishing 'Prospero's Children' and its sequels as Jan Siegal, and 'The Greenstone Grail' and 'The Traitor's Sword' under her own name.

In case anyone is unaware, Jan Siegal is Amanda Hemingway and Amanda Hemingway is Jan Siegal.

I promised her I would tell you all.

Oh, and she is a pretty damn good writer, I think.
