Bad adventure

I was mugged this afternoon, just down the street from where I live.

Not all that seriously - it was a phone snatch which means that I have the inconvenience of waiting for a new phone and sim card and will have to get a few newish numbers from people that are too recent to have been copied to my backup phone. I shall have to go and look at mug shots and all of that - it was broad daylight and there was a witness so they may even catch the guy.

What worries me is that I chased him for a while shouting Thief Thief which is not recommended behaviour when it is only a phone and he might have a knife. He'd pissed me off, is the trouble, first by getting my phone when I looked at my watch to ask for the time, then by punching me in the shoulder. I tried to grab him and also punched him back. On the other hand, I remember him quite vividly and was able to make some sort of stab at describing him.

But middle-aged people with short wind, bad knees and no weapon really should not chase muggers for twenty yards or so - you feel like crap when you fail to catch them and they might decide to kill you.

Luckily, he ran really fast.
