New Town

Almost at random, I watched this pilot on BBC4 - nobody seems to know for certain whether or not the rest of the series will be made - apparently the scripts are written but have not been greenlit or whatever the Beeb do. I've liked what I've seen of Annie Griffin's previous work, but this is significantly better - partly because of its amazing cast (Daniella Nardini as a hyper-aggressive estate agent, Mark Gatiss as an ambitious gay architect) and partly because of its tone. If one were to say 'League of Gentlemen crossed with Twin Peaks, only about architecture and town planning' that would only begin to cover it.

Watch this on I-player or however else and hope against hope for the rest of the series. I really want to know how this one plays out.
