Sep. 16th, 2009 04:35 pmLike a significant part of my friends list, I made it to the late night Amanda Palmer gig on Sunday and one of the reasons I haven't posted before is that I did not get home and to bed until 4.30 in the morning. And that because I was lucky with the buses.
It was one of those special occasions that go into the memory bank of good times to run your fingers over when times are hard - not just because of the music, or Amanda getting the audience to use her as a dress-up doll, or Neil reading one of the stories from the book, or seeing Neil more obviously blissfully happy than I have seen him in a long time, or the music - which was entirely awesome because she always is. It was the fact that there was a chemistry in the air that meant that at 3.15 in the morning I was standing with my arms around
ephemerita and
mercuryneedle singing along to 'Hallelujah' and 'Oasis' with half the audience and loving everybody in sight in a way I rarely did in church, when I was a believer.
