It's just astonishing to read. It's the most unpleasant combination of attack and self-justification.

I had this discussion with someone else on another post recently, but what kind of apology is it if you don't recognise the rights of the people to whom you're apologising not to accept that apology? You can't simultaneously accept that you've committed a hurt and believe that saying, "Sorry I hurt you" cancels it out. An apology is only the outward sign of the internal recognition that you hurt someone, not a magic word that makes something cease to hurt.
