I think they will end up in a triad to which Ferris keeps on bringing home others for longer or shorter times. Or maybe you're right and Sloane and Cameron will end up together having children and living conventionally and talking about Ferris in erotic contexts, while Ferris himself whizzed through on cometary orbits. You could make a very odd film with the actors at their present ages about the characters at their present ages and that situation.
I think there's also a way in which Sloane and Cameron are the parents Ferris has chosen.
