Or is television just getting a lot more, well, perverse?

My shows just get odder - Nip/Tuck has a schoolgirl as its Big Bad for Season Five who is trying to control Sean by threatening to corrupt his daughter. Pushing Daisies has all the 'having to kiss through plastic' stuff which is pretty much a fetishist dream. And Ugly Betty ended in a scene which appeared to be Wilhelmina harvesting dead Bradford's sperm so that she can get herself pregnant with a child with a claim on the will. (Presumably it says 'children' so that no Red State jurisdiction can deny Alexis her share.)

If we are coming to the end of a Golden Era, it's all going out with a bang.

Veronica Mars as one of the new Big Bads in Heroes would appear to add to this theory...

I'm really liking the school girl thing on Nip/Tuck, only because I find Sean extremely sexy and I have a whole school girl fetish thing, but other than that she is an evil bitch and an odd choice as a villian.

Is that what what happened with that whole ending on Ugly Betty?

Whoa...went right over my head lol.

Well, I don't know for sure that that is what is going on. It's the only explanation that fits though IMHO.

Though I don't watch those shows, I have noticed a general TV shift to doing weirder and darker stuff. The shift is slow, but I think you can get away with a lot more on TV now than you could say, ten to twelve years ago. "Late night" has become "prime time", if you will.
