Because it is one of the most wonderful things ever anyway, and I love this cover version of the music, may I share with you the Pink Elephants sequence from Dumbo remastered with Sun Ra and his Arkestra.

I don't think I ever saw Dumbo. That sequence was really inspired. The music was perfect too.

That is marvelous! I've always thought that was such an effective piece of animation by Disney and Sun Ra does a wonderful job rescoring it. Great stuff, thanks for posting it!

The music's great, but it loses sync with the film part-way through.

I've not seen "Dumbo" for a while, and it's interesting to see how many ideas and animation techniques got re-used in/from Fantasia.

I decided to flag the entire journal rather than spend time deciding on each post - I am irritated with LJ about this, of course, but I decided that the way to go on this one was just to accept the situation.

Fair enough. I understood there were some very odd defaults, and I wondered if this was one of them. (Or, of course, if you had already been madly flagged by mad flagging teams.)
