I actually said all the major details in the post. She was point blank refused according to the head of the police on site. She was then suggested that she goto the macdonalds up the road which was "5 minutes up the road" presumably at a dead run. it was some way beyond the pub we walked.

I should have brought it up at the pub - I forgot, I was trying to say hello and network and then say good bye and get her home. I actually didn't realise how bad it had been until the next day when she was confined to bed. I should have gone with her I guess
