So, the reason why the sinister rightwing bitch who is all too close to the Americans seemed familiar is that she played the upper-class dyke lover in 'Tipping the Velvet', which at least settles that for me.

On the other hand,, I didn't quite see why everyone was so happy at the end given that we never saw them arrest several key members of the ultra-Green bombers. Specifically, the woman who did the communiques over the phone was never seen again - is this a plot point or just crappiness.

On the other hand, it is a smart and literate show when it is not overloading everything with ponderous verbal significance or running round and round in basements.

I'm thinking arc if they had to show these two episodes for the rest to work.

Nice episode, suspect we have not seen the last of Tash(?) and that she will turn up sooner or later as a trainee, agree about the whole "running about in the basement" bit - that's the sort of thing minions are for.

The second episode seemed to have rather fewer moments of genuine tension than the first -- I think because of the running around in the basement (you knew they'd catch the mole eventually), but also because the identity of the mole was revealed in the first 15-20 minutes, so reducing the paranoia factor.

Otherwise: triff stuff, although this must be the third or fourth time that Harry has threatened to resign....

Same woman was also Miss Bingley in P&P, I think -- and "Duckface" in Four weddings
And the home secretary was George from Drop the Dead Donkey...
